Privacy Policy

BuzzIn.Live is a free online buzzer. There are no accounts, no ads, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing. This page lists what the site collects.
Playing or hosting a game
- The nickname you type, your buzzes, team and points exist only in the server's memory while the game runs. They are gone when the game ends (when the host ends it, after 2 hours idle, or 5 minutes after the host leaves). Nicknames are never saved. Please don't put personal information in a nickname.
- When a game ends, the site keeps an anonymous summary for its own statistics: when it started and ended, how many players joined, the number of buzzes, and which features (teams, points, timer) were used. No names are in it.
- Players get a random ID for the game so they can reconnect if their connection drops.
Visiting the site
- The site counts its own page views instead of using Google Analytics or any other tracker. For each page load it records the page, the time, the website that linked you here (just its domain), your device type (phone, tablet or desktop), browser, operating system and language.
- To count unique visitors without cookies, it stores a scrambled code made from your IP address and browser plus a random value that changes every day. Your IP address is not saved with page-view records, and the code can't be used to recognise you on a different day.
- Page-view records are deleted after 90 days. Visits from known bots and crawlers are not recorded.
Sending feedback
- If you use the feedback form, your name, email address and message are stored so they can be read and answered, and your name and message are emailed to the site owner. They are kept until deleted, and you can ask for yours to be deleted.
- To stop spam, the site's database keeps your IP address for 24 hours when you submit the form, only to limit how many messages one connection can send.
- The form uses Google reCAPTCHA, which sends information about your browser and your interaction with the page to Google. Google's use of it is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
Cookies and storage
Players and hosts get no cookies. The only cookie is a login session for the site's own admin page. The site doesn't use your browser's storage to track you.
Other services
- The site runs on a DigitalOcean server in the United States.
- Pages load a few standard files (styles, icons, scripts) from cdnjs (Cloudflare), StackPath and Font Awesome. Like any website request, these services see your IP address and browser when your browser fetches those files.
- The server's system and application logs can record IP addresses (for example from connections, errors, rejected feedback or login attempts, and security and firewall events). These logs are used only to run and protect the site and may be kept indefinitely.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it. Questions or deletion requests can be sent through the feedback page.
